Alex Albon has had high expectations of himself from the first day he is in Formula 1. The current driver of Red Bull Racing had a tremendously good season last year, but due to a collision with Lewis Hamilton the dreamed podium has not yet been achieved. In an interview with GP Racing Albon talks about his expectations and the expectations of the team for 2020 and the years to come.

Despite Albon's good performance in the second part of 2019, the Thai knows all too well that the situation can suddenly change completely. Daniil Kvyat and Pierre Gasly are perfect examples. Nevertheless, the Thai indicates that the team itself has not yet set strict expectations. "I think it's especially important to achieve continuity", Albon thinks.

High expectations of himself

For Albon it is not the team, but he himself who makes the expectations. "I have very high expectations and minimal goals for myself and the first person who doesn't like the performance I get is myself. The team knows that too, so they also see the areas where I can improve". According to Albon, improvement is an important factor in working with Red Bull after 2020.

"The team wants to see progress, that's the most important thing. That's why I am improving. That's actually what it is. There are no targets, but that gives me more pressure to perform, for no reason at all. I just have to do my own things and focus on myself, then I'll be fine," Albon says.
