Formula 1 has a tough task in putting together a new calendar for 2020, but the end is in sight. According to Sky Sports, more will be known about the new calendar this week.
Request to Boris Johnson
Formula 1 aims for a start at the beginning of July in Austria. The Red Bull Ring will be the setting for the first race of the 2020 Formula 1 season and the second race will also be held there. The third and fourth races are expected to take place at the Silverstone circuit, but the British government has yet to approve this.
In the United Kingdom the guidelines are now such that when entering the country one has to spend 14 days in quarantine. Formula 1 has submitted a request to Boris Johnson himself. The people in F1 are frequently tested and have been moved from Austria for this purpose from a quarantine situation. The chance of contamination is therefore zero.
European calendar
According to Sky Sports, Formula 1 will announce more about the European part of the calendar this week. Later in the season the races in Asia and America will also be held, but F1 is now aiming for a provisional calendar in Europe. Austria and England will be the first to do so, followed by a series of races.
According to earlier rumors, Hungary was also on the calendar twice, but Sky Sports now omits that. According to the British medium, Hungary, Spain, Belgium and Italy are planning to organize a race and the Hockenheimring is also holding talks for a one-time return on the calendar.
