Ricciardo gets big bonus on a victory in a McLaren

The transfer of Daniel Ricciardo to McLaren is a fact since last week. After this year the Australian leaves his current employer Renault where he started a new adventure just two years ago. Financially speaking, we don't have to feel sorry for McLaren's new acquisition.
The amounts vary considerably when it comes to Ricciardo's paycheck at McLaren next year. In any case, it's less than what he earned at Renault. It has been suggested before that Ricciardo can expect big bonuses. For a podium place he would get 400,000 euros. A victory gives the Australian more than double: 1 million.
Now that the project at Renault hasn't brought what Ricciardo expected of it in terms of sports, he leaves his fat salary behind for what it is. Although there is still one year to go the honey badger leaves Renault. He opts for, allegedly, half of his current salary. Still ten million and with bonuses possibly even more. Although a victory in a McLaren would be quite a challenge as the changes in the regulations only take effect in 2022.
