People arriving in Great Britain will have to isolate themselves for a fortnight starting on 8 June in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. This was announced by the British government today.

Measurements

Travelers will have to tell the government where they'll be quarantined. Random samples will be taken and a fine of £1,000 will be imposed if a person fails to maintain the fortnight's self-isolation.

This could mean even more bad news for the British Grand Prix. According to the latest rumours, the British GP would be on the new calendar as the third and fourth round of the world championship. Right after the races in Austria. Earlier today it was already reported that Hungary is a possible alternate.

Optimism

Despite the new measurements, Stuart Pringle, director of Silverstone, remains optimistic. "I am very clear that the importance of the industry is understood by the government. I remain very optimistic that they will find a way", says Pringle in conversation with Sky Sports F1.
