Max Verstappen departs as one of the favourites to Austria. The Dutchman won the last two races that were held and is now allowed to do so at the start of the Formula 1 season in 2020.

No fans in Austria

''It'll be different this year, of course. What happened last season with all those fans in the Dutch Team, is of course extremely motivating and great to see. However, racing without an audience is something we'll all experience for the first time'', says Verstappen opposite German Sky Sports.

For 2020 Verstappen is also one of the favourites on the world title and it is the year of truth. During his sixth year in Formula 1 it will be the last chance for Verstappen to become the youngest world champion in F1 history. How does Verstappen assess those chances himself?

Verstappen wants to win

''In the end it will be very nice if it succeeds, but I want to win every year and for the time being it hasn't succeeded yet. Last year I learned a lot and was able to work together with the team during the winter tests to become even better. We are motivated to win in 2020'', says Verstappen, who doesn't want to make statements about the competition like Helmut Marko does.

''We have to see how everyone is doing during the first races. We haven't had any races for months and I expect updates for several teams. I think Mercedes will be very strong again as always, but I hope it will be close together'', Verstappen concludes hopefully.
