Renault will test for two days with the 2018 car on the Red Bull Ring

After Mercedes, Racing Point and AlphaTauri had already announced to test before the start of the season, Renault now also indicates to start the engines before the season finally starts. Although Mercedes and Racing Point chose to stay safely at Silverstone, Renault has chosen to travel to Austria in the meantime.
Because testing in France or England was not an option due to the quarantine measures, the French team chose to go directly to Austria. In that country, the measures have been relaxed to such an extent that you no longer have to go into compulsory quarantine. That's why the team will be testing on the Red Bull Ring on 16 and 17 June, more than two weeks before the real season starts.
Good preparation for the start of the season
In a statement, the team states that they are happy to be able to test again. "A thank you to all team members who have worked hard to find logistical solutions so that we can give our drivers the best chance to prepare for the first two races in Austria".
In Austria the team will test with the 2018 car. Racing Point and AlphaTauri will spend a film day to drive, but because of that they will drive the 2020 car. So Renault will take the RS18 on the track, with Daniel Ricciardo entering the track on the first day and Esteban Ocon behind the wheel on the second.
