Vietnam negotiates Japan's place on the Formula 1 calendar

Besides the Grand Prix of China, also the Grand Prix of Vietnam is still in the running for a spot on the calendar of 2020. Hanoi has to convert the whole city for the race, but that doesn't get in the way of the plans yet.
Just like the Dutch Grand Prix, the Vietnamese Grand Prix would appear for the first time on the Formula 1 calendar this year. A lot of work was done on the streets of Hanoi to bring F1 to Vietnam for the first time, but this could not take place because of the corona virus. However, there is still room on the new calendar.
Vietnam on the calendar anyway
Racefans.net reports that the Grand Prix of Vietnam can replace the race in Japan. The Japanese Grand Prix was cancelled last week together with the Grand Prix of Azerbaijan and Singapore. On the original spot of 11 October, however, the GP of Vietnam could still be scheduled.
The preference of Formula 1 is for a race in China and Vietnam, but that is not yet a certainty. For the Vietnamese Grand Prix a lot of work has to be done to be able to adapt to the corona measures. A second race in China could be the alternative, although at that is only just a rumor.
