Verstappen does not exclude Vettel as teammate Hamilton: "Could happen, of course"

Max Verstappen hopes to win several Grands Prix and eventually the world title next season. According to the 22-year old driver this is certainly not out of the question, because Red Bull Racing is in pretty good shape. Verstappen also discusses the departure of Sebastian Vettel at Ferrari after 2020.
Red Bull wants to fight
"Hopefully we can achieve a lot of victories this season and make it an exciting world championship", says Verstappen in an interview with RTL. With the German medium, he hints that it could indeed be a neck-and-neck race. "Everyone is very close to the level of Mercedes. Not just us, but also Ferrari."
Over the past few years the German race stable has been able to win the world title, but if it is up to Verstappen this will come to an end in 2020. "Mercedes and Lewis have done a great job so far, but this year we want to compete with them," said the eight-time Grand Prix winner, who has done everything in recent weeks to appear fit at the start of the season. "I train even more than before, about three hours a day."
Vettel next to Hamilton?
Verstappen continues his story by commenting on the departure of Vettel after next year at Ferrari. The Dutchman didn't expect the four-time world champion and the Italian superpower to split up. "That was a surprise, but in the end Sebastian and Ferrari thought the separation was best for everyone. I expected that he would drive for Ferrari for another year or two".
The four-time world champion is associated with a transfer to Mercedes from 2021. Verstappen doesn't think it is a crazy idea of Mercedes to put Vettel next to Lewis Hamilton. "Why not? It could happen, of course. Vettel has achieved so much in the sport, it would be a pity if he didn't continue driving in Formula 1", he concludes.
