Marko: "Verstappen is in a similar situation at Red Bull Racing as Vettel"

After all the reports about (possible) driver transfers, Max Verstappen recently indicated that he feels so good at Red Bull Racing that he doesn't feel he ever want to drive for another team. Dr. Helmut Marko is flattered by the words of the young driver.
Marko was the first at the time to offer Verstappen a contract in Formula 1 at Toro Rosso and partly because of that, the Austrian team seems to have gained a lot of loyalty from Verstappen. A bond has developed between the Dutchman and Red Bull that only one person had before him.
"He feels very comfortable within the team and is in a similar situation as Vettel had when he drove for us. The most important thing is that we get a winning car for him on the track and that we are the main challengers of Mercedes", said Helmut Marko against the Kronen Zeitung.
There are indeed many parallels to draw between the career of Vettel and Verstappen at Red Bull Racing. For example, in both cases they could count on the full support of the team despite their more experienced (Australian) team mate. It remains to be seen, however, whether Verstappen will leave for Ferrari after winning the world title, based on his own words.
