De Vries: ''I would be open to a switch to Formula 1''

Nyck de Vries has conquered a nice spot in Formula E with the new Mercedes team. A dream come true, you would say, but as a young driver Formula 1 still beckons and De Vries doesn't put that out of his mind.
"Everyone dreams of Formula 1. As a little boy that's why you get into the kart, but I've now chosen a different path and I'm very happy with the chance I got from Mercedes. I'm fully focused on that now, but you never know what the future holds. I would in any case be open to a step towards Formula 1'', says De Vries in a live video on the Instagram channel of Helden.
Great opportunities for Verstappen
The Dutchman may not be active in Formula 1 himself, but with Max Verstappen he does have a friend and compatriot who is active in the sport. De Vries follows Formula 1 closely and is curious about the start of the season. According to the Frisian, however, not much is going to change in the coming season.
"Little changes, so we'll see the same teams riding in front again. However, it will be a different season than usual due to the number of races and I think it will be between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Max has a really good chance at the title. He could fight for this until the last race and then catch him too'', De Vries is positive about the chances of the Red Bull Racing driver.
