Red Bull Ring sets sprint towards start F1 season: Stage ceremony changes
- GPblog.com
July the 5th is finally here. Then the Formula 1 season of 2020 starts at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. However, some things had to be done there to be 'corona proof', but now they have succeeded.
Red Bull Ring is almost ready
The Formula 1 weekends will look a bit different than usual at the start of the season. Mouth caps and distance are the most noticeable, but so will the podium ceremony after the race in Austria. So a victory is beautiful, but it will have to be celebrated alone.
Speedweek.com reports that 200 to 300 people are working in Spielberg to prepare the circuit for the start of the seeding. ''The final sprint has started towards the start of the season. For example, there is still a painted route on the planning and the advertising canvases will also be adjusted'', says Red Bull Ring representative Gustav Fenz.
Other stage ceremony
So the stage ceremony will disappear, but the prize will still be awarded. The top three drivers now park their cars on the grid in front of their own team. There, however, they will not receive their cup in the normal way, but this too will be filled out in a different way.
As was made clear before, teams will only bring a maximum of 80 staff members to the track and the teams will be separated in different hotels. This will also be done on the circuit to reduce the risk of contamination of the coronavirus. If anyone does get infected, they'll be isolated at Vienna-Schwechat Airport.
