Red Bull will test at Silverstone but only after Hungary
- GPblog.com
It was already clear that Red Bull would not be riding a test day ahead of the start of the season in Austria in a few weeks time. Alexander Albon and Max Verstappen will only make their first meters in Austria since the corona stop. Now it turns out that after the Hungarian Grand Prix Red Bull has planned a day of filming at Silverstone where Verstappen gets behind the wheel.
Helmut Marko announced this to OE24. "We may test the current Red Bull on July 25 at Silverstone for up to 100 kilometers." That's the number of kilometres the teams are allowed to drive for a filming day in which they make shots that are used for marketing purposes. It is the second day of filming of the year for the Austrian race stable. Earlier, footage was taken in the run-up to the winter tests.
Possibly during the filming day the mechanics can make some adjustments based on the data they collected during the first three weekends, giving Red Bull a small advantage over the competition. One week after the test day, the race starts on the Silverstone circuit.
