In two weeks time the F1 season will finally start. In Spielberg the first Grand Prix will take place, after an extremely long break. The coronavirus has been in the way for a long time for a start of the season, but we are finally going to start. Many drivers have waited a long time for the moment to start again and according to Daniel Ricciardo that will be visible on the track.

"Of course we can still practice enough and the race weekend will still look the same," Ricciardo said at the F1 Nation podcast, "but as soon as the lights go out I'm sure some drivers' egos will get in the way. It will therefore be very exciting".

Every race counts for more

Many drivers and people involved in Formula 1 already expect that because of the long wait for real racing, many drivers will be impatient with their chances and want to overtake as soon as possible. "Of course we don't know exactly how many races we will be racing this season, so we are going to have the mentality that every race is going to count enormously".

So Ricciardo expects that drivers will be less frugal with their chances, because they have to seize every opportunity. However, he doesn't expect that there will be many accidents and crashes on the circuit in Austria. "We'll get enough time behind the wheel before we actually start this season", the Renault driver concludes.
