According to Alexander Albon, the coronavirus has brought Formula 1 drivers closer together. Many drivers have started racing online in e-sports competitions in order to still be able to drive a bit. Albon was able to get a number of advantages out of this.
Connection
"What I realized is that you get the feeling that the fans can really connect with the drivers", Albon said at an FIA e-sports conference. "It's very difficult to really get to know a driver."
Albon says he was very happy with all the fans who followed the drivers during the corona break. That's why he wants to keep communicating closely with them. "I don't understand why it wouldn't stay that way in real life. I think it will continue like this", says Max Verstappen's team mate.
Eager
"I really enjoyed it. It was very competitive. I think if we use drivers in environments where we compete against each other we will always be very eager to beat each other", ended the Red Bull Racing driver.
