Is this the new driver for Renault? "My goal is the top three''

With the departure of Daniel Ricciardo at the end of 2020 at Renault, a spot will become vacant at the factory team in 2021. Big names like Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel have already passed by, but it is also possible that Renault chooses young talent.
Years ago Renault started with a youth training, of which the goal was to reach Formula 1 in 2021. Now it just so happens that in that year two Renault juniors enter Formula 2 to make an impression. Guanyu Zhou, with one year of experience in his pocket, seems to be the big favourite, but he still has to prove it.
Zhou to Renault?
''We want to see the speed of Zhou and his colleague in the academy Christian Lundgaard. They are both very competitive and good options for 2021. It's a bit early to say whether they are ready for Formula 1, but now that Ricciardo is leaving this might be the right time to give them a chance," said Cyril Abiteboul to Autosport.com.
Zhou is hoping for that chance himself, but first he has to get a super license. ''My goal is to finish in the top three or at least in the top four, because then I'll have enough points for my super license. If there is a chance in Formula 1, I don't want to miss it'', the Chinese concludes.
