Yesterday it was announced that the German RTL will no longer have the rights to broadcast Formula 1 after this season. Today Sky announces that they will have exclusive broadcasting rights in Germany as of 2021.

Pay-TV

RTL announced its choice to broadcast more football from 2021 onwards. This means that the German branch of Sky Sport will lose the broadcasting rights of Formula 1. With this, the F1 will also end behind paid television in Germany.

Despite the fact that you have to pay for Sky, the company still broadcasts four races a year for free. These are accessible to everyone, although it is not yet clear which races that will be.

Full race channel

With Sky Sport F1, the TV station will have its own channel that will broadcast motorsport 24 hours a day. All sessions of F1 will be shown, but also Formula 2, Formula 3 and Porsche Supercup.
