NASCAR was startled this weekend by a terrible incident in which a noose was found in driver Bubba Wallace's garage as a threat. After the race on the Talladega Superspeedway the American was emotional.
Still laughing
"This may have been the toughest race for me. It was tough and felt almost like hell. You just carry that with you for a whole weekend and I'm proud of where I stand. The sport is changing and I'm proud of it,'' says Wallace, who finished in the top fifteen for the third time in a row.
''I'm sorry I'm not wearing my mask now, but I wanted to show whoever did this that you never take my smile away from me. I'll always go on. I should have won that race, but I shouldn't have. However, of all the drivers, teams and fans, I've had a lot of support and I'm very proud of this sport'', Wallace concludes with a smile in front of FOX Sports.
