'We want to provide a legendary triple header together with Monza and Mugello'

The circuit boss of Imola hopes to complete an Italian triple header in 2020 by organising a third race in Italy at Imola after Monza and Mugello. It would be the second time ever in Formula 1 that three Grands Prixs would be held in one country.
Unique situation
The last time that happened was in 1982. In that year three races were held in the United States. Imola itself hasn't organized a Grand Prix since 2006. The circuit got its Grade 1 license earlier this month. This is needed to organize a GP.
Legendary triple header
"Imola has F1 in its DNA and on this track the history of F1 has taken place, it must not be forgotten and we must be rightly proud of it", says circuit boss Selvatico Estense according to Autosport.com.
"The most logical and most suitable solution for F1 fans from all over the world would be to use circuits with great media impact, as Imola certainly is. [And] perhaps together with Monza and Mugello, for a legendary national triple", he concludes.
