Red Bull Racing test with Albon at Silverstone, Verstappen conspicuously absent
- GPblog.com
Red Bull Racing has arrived at Silverstone where it will conduct a filming day with Alexander Albon. This way the team will be able to test how to handle the corona measures and the driver will also be able to make some meters.
The striking absent in this test is Max Verstappen. The Dutchman is still at home and does not seem to be present at the test. The Dutchman himself said earlier that he didn't think a test was necessary and therefore didn't experience any disadvantage that Mercedes could already have done a test. It is therefore not surprising that Verstappen is now handing over his turn to Albon.
It is Albon's turn
At Silverstone it is the ideal opportunity for Red Bull to get used to the new measures surrounding the coronavirus. Fewer people are allowed to work on the car and more distance needs to be kept. We also have to work with mouth caps, which will also make it more difficult in certain situations.
Meanwhile Albon has already driven outside for his first meters at Silverstone. Last year, after half a season in Formula 1, the Thai already made the switch to Red Bull, where he had to offer more resistance to Verstappen than Pierre Gasly had done. Albon will cherish these meters in order to be as ready as possible for the start of the season.
