Wolff: "I'm not going to be CEO and I'm not going to be on the board"

In recent months there has been a lot of speculation about the future of Toto Wolff and indirectly the future of Mercedes. Wolff's contract expires at the end of the year and, according to some sources, he is looking for a job at Liberty Media or Aston Martin.
The latter rumour is not only fuelled by the fact that Wolff recently bought shares of the British sports car manufacturer, but also by the rumours that Mercedes was going to leave Formula 1. Wolff emphasizes to Thisismoney.co.uk that of this whole story really is not true.
"I'm not going to be the CEO and I'm not going to be on the board. I just came in as one of the investors who believe this can be a success. I believe the Aston Martin brand is undervalued, even given the financial parameters of relatively high debt and slow car sales. The SUV is going to change that."
Wolff adds that his involvement with Aston Martin has nothing at all to do with the F1 team. Within the sport he says he intends to stay with Mercedes.
