Verstappen: "Fourth or fifth place is of course no longer good enough"

The whole Formula 1 world, including the fans, seems to be getting ready for a title fight between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. It seems to have become a matter of course by now, but it's anything but. Before the start of the season Verstappen explained in an interview with the BBC that the team really has to make a step for that.
"You just have to be better," he responds to the question of how he thinks he can beat Mercedes and Hamilton. "Work harder and try to get more speed out of the car. The same goes for the power source on Honda's side. We just have to get everything out of it and that's not easy. I trust our guys at the factory are smarter than theirs."
With the results of previous seasons in mind, a double Grand Prix on the Red Bull Ring looks like a great start to the season for Verstappen. If he wins here as he did in 2018 and 2019, he has a serious chance of winning the title. However, you have to continue that form for an entire season.
"As of this season we want to fight for the title, so a fourth or fifth place won't be enough. You always have to be on the podium and try to fight for victories. I just hope we can make that step."
