Austria's first Grand Prix is over and it was Mercedes that immediately took the lead again in the fight for the constructors' championship. McLaren is surprisingly the second team in the rankings after the first weekend of the season due to the disappointing performance of Ferrari and Red Bull Racing.

Thanks to the first place of Valtteri Bottas and second place of Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes managed to collect 37 points. That could have been a lot more when Hamilton hadn't been punished by the stewards after Red Bull Racing driver Alexander Albon tapped off the track.

Speaking of Red Bull, the Austrian race stable could also have had more points. The team of Christian Horner and Helmut Marko remained at zero points after the incident of Albon and the technical problems of the RB16 at Verstappen and again Albon. As a result they are currently in a shared eighth place, together with Williams and Haas F1.

McLaren is in second place in the intermediate standings with a lead of seven points on Ferrari. Racing Point finds itself in a deserving fourth place, while AlphaTauri won't complain with six points either. Renault and Alfa Romeo were the last two teams to gain points on the Red Bull Ring.
