Sebastian Vettel doesn't want to leave Formula 1 yet. The German confessed this in an interview with ServusTV. Vettel also reveals some more details about the course of the last few weeks.
Vettel doesn't want to leave
"Motorsport is my life and I wouldn't know what else to do. With the right track and the right place, I would still feel at home in Formula 1. In the coming weeks and months I'll just have to see what's possible'', says Vettel for the Sport & Talk programme on Red Bull's ServusTV.
''In theory both places are still available at Mercedes, but it seems clear to me that Hamilton will get the spot if he wants it and with the victory of Valtteri he is also getting closer", says Vettel who is really looking for confidence. ''It is important to find an environment that fits. The past few years have been fun at Ferrari, but it has also cost me a lot of strength''.
Vettel asked Marko for advice
All in all, it's a new situation for Vettel, who never had to fight for a spot in the next season. ''Yes, this is a new situation. I don't care about the money. It's much more important that the environment suits who I am,'' says Vettel, who also called in help from an old acquaintance.
''I asked Helmut Marko for advice. I presented him with the situation and he has the heart on his tongue. I've just been able to talk to him about it and you'll see the outcome'', concludes Vettel who according to Max Verstappen is welcome at Red Bull Racing, but doesn't seem to count on a place with his old team.
