Red Bull makes a new move: Formula 1 on open channel of ServusTV
- GPblog.com
Good news for Red Bull and Austrian Formula 1 fans. As of 2021, Formula 1 will be live on the open channel of ServusTV and ORF in Austria.
Red Bull gets television rights
While in the UK the TV rights for Formula 1 have been in the hands of Sky Sports for years, in Austria it was time again to renegotiate the conntracts. From 2021 onwards, fans will therefore have to switch to the channels of ServusTV and ORF. A big step for Red Bull.
Dietrich Mateschitz said earlier that his channel doesn't necessarily hunt for the broadcasting rights of Formula 1, but if the opportunity is there he wouldn't miss it either. That has now proven to be the case. Red Bull now has the right to broadcast the footage on their own television channel in addition to their own team and circuit.
News for Austrian fans: "F1 has announced today a new three-year TV rights deal with ServusTV that will see Formula 1 air live, on free-to-air Austrian TV from 2021. ServusTV and ORF will offer viewers the best television experience..." etc
