Honda has ambitious goal: "All Red Bull drivers must finish higher"
- GPblog.com
Pole position was not possible for Max Verstappen, but the Dutchman managed to qualify strongly in second place. Toyoharu Tanabe of Honda is happy with the starting position of the Red Bull Racing driver.
It was questionable whether qualifying would continue this afternoon, but the race management saw no reason to cancel the session, despite the heavy rain. "The rain made life complicated for all the teams, even though we knew it was going to get wet", Tanabe starts in the Team Review of Honda.
The rain also started to increase the moment Q1 started, but the Red Bull Racing team didn't know that. "For the second time in a week Max Verstappen has secured a place on the first row of the grid, after having done the same at the GP of Austria last year".
Ambitious goal for Honda
"Alex Albon and Pierre Gasly also did well to come to Q3. Respectively they will start from sixth and seventh position, due to the grid penalty of Lando Norris", Tanabe continues.
Honda's top man sees chances for both Red Bull teams in tomorrow's race. "Tomorrow will probably be a dry race, so we will prepare for that. The goal is for all four drivers of Red Bull to finish higher than their starting positions". That means the victory for Max Verstappen, but we will see if that will actually happen tomorrow afternoon.
