Albon rues mistake: "Third place was within striking range."

Alexander Albon qualified in sixth place in the rainy qualifying session on Saturday. After last week's good speed, when he could have won the race, that might have been a bit disappointing. There would have been more.
"I was actually doing a pretty good lap," Albon told Motorsport-Total.com about his last attempt in Q3. "I think third place was within striking distance. It was just my fault. I braked a bit late. I'm having a bit of a hard time this weekend and I still have to find out why. Actually, our package is better this weekend, but I'm still struggling to make the best of it."
Vettel no issue
According to Albon it's because the rain only exacerbates already existing problems. He struggled all weekend with the stability of the RB16 and that was no less on a wet Red Bull Ring, although he seemed to have found a solution in the course of qualifying. Any suggestion that he would be under pressure from the possible arrival of Sebastian Vettel at Red Bull Racing he dismissed.
"You just have to work on yourself, rumors in the background don't change that. Things like that don't affect me. I have to work hard and to control of my future. I only have to perform, but that doesn't mean I feel extra pressure."
