Marko: 'Hungaroring crucial for world title chances'

After two Grands Prix, Red Bull Racing left their home circuit for the third race. A loot that they probably wouldn't have signed up for beforehand. There are several excuses as to why Mercedes was the better one, but this weekend that's no longer possible. Then Red Bull has to be there, says Helmut Marko.
Admittedly, especially the first race on the Red Bull Ring could have been very different for both Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon. According to the team, both drivers were in a position to win the race. "Because we had problems of our own, we couldn't take advantage of Mercedes' reliability problems," Marko said to RTL.
Hungaroring only better at RB16
During the Styrian Grand Prix, however, Red Bull had no chance and that was mainly due to the weather, which was in favour of Mercedes thanks to lower temperatures. However, the characteristics of the Hungaroring should ensure that Verstappen and Albon can compete for victory in all circumstances.
And that is also necessary if they want to play a role in the championship this season. Marko also realises that it is a crucial weekend. "If we want to keep our chances of winning the world title, we have to ride at the front this weekend. A victory would be nice".
