Kravitz explains why Red Bull and Mercedes did less laps in Hungary
While Racing Point and Ferrari completed quite a few laps during the wet second free practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix, the drivers of Red Bull Racing and Mercedes remained in the garage. Ted Kravitz has a logical explanation for this.
The Sky Sports analyst said we should go back to last week. Lewis Hamilton convincingly took pole position at the Red Bull Ring, while Max Verstappen took second place with a relatively large gap. How different was that for Ferrari and Racing Point, the (from what you would expect) numbers three and four.
Why Hamilton and Verstappen kept calm
"It seems they just wanted a look," Kravitz explained.
"They were happy with how they were in the wet last week - obviously they were peerless Verstappen and Hamilton in Austrian qualifying - and that was a sign there wasn't anything really more to learn from there."
Chances are there will be precipitation in qualifying in Hungary as well. However, the weather in Budapest is pretty unpredictable, so we'll have to wait and see.
