Many updates no excuse for Verstappen: "Exactly the same as other years"

In today's Formula 1, drivers are more dependent on their material than ever and there is virtually no other racing class where this effect is so strong. If Red Bull Racing for the Hungarian Grand Prix has gone the wrong way with new updates, there is little Max Verstappen can do about it.
"Of course I always try to give the right feedback on how the car reacts, but I'm not the one who builds and sets up the car in the end", says Verstappen after qualifying to GPblog.com. "So there's not much I can do about that. After this weekend we'll just analyze everything again and see what we can do better at Silverstone. Even though that's not our favourite circuit".
Updates Red Bull Racing are not substantially different than before
Until then, the outside world will continue to guess what went wrong at Red Bull Racing in the run-up to the Hungarian Grand Prix. Even the team itself hasn't found the cause of the worsened balance problems after tinkering all night. The fact that the shortened season means that the team is now coming up with a lot of new updates all at once is no excuse for Verstappen.
"You always put the updates on you can put on, so nothing has changed in that area compared to other years. In recent years we've always had a lot of parts on certain tracks, so that's just exactly the same".
