Wolff: "Different strategies possible, but not in Hungary"

Mercedes seems to be in a class of its own this season. After the first two Grands Prix in Austria and the times driven in Hungary it appears that the German team is a lot better than the rest of the field. The only problems the team will encounter during the race will probably be the duel between Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. Toto Wolff says he's leaving the drivers free to race.
"We don't have rules about that. In recent years the drivers are often free to race, but there are exceptions", Wolff explains at Motorsport.com. "If there's a situation where we have to ensure the team's success, we may have to intervene, but it won't happen quickly."
Don't take any risks
Wolff makes it clear that he does not want to take any risks around the strategy, also because of the danger from the rest of the field. "I don't want to make a decision that I'm going to regret. I don't want to risk being in danger either. I don't want to give other teams opportunities, like Red Bull Racing, because of a wrong decision. You could use different strategies. I'm not against it, but I don't think we should do that here in Hungary."
"It's something we've already discussed with the drivers in Austria and we concluded that it can make Formula 1 more exciting, so we can choose to go for it, but we have to think about it", concludes Wolff.
