Binotto: "It's not cutting heads, that make a car go faster"
- GPblog.com
It may already be the understatement of the season. Ferrari is not where it is supposed to be. So says Mattia Binotto after three races. Because of the disappointing performance of the Scuderia, the team boss is in danger of losing his job. His last statement shows that he is not afraid of that.
At the moment Ferrari is number five in the championship. After three races, the Scuderia, which you normally find in the traditional top three (often above Red Bull Racing), is not doing well enough. That much is clear. F1 journalist Gianluca D'Alessandro tweets the following quotes from the team boss:
"After three races it's clear we're in worse shape than expected. We have to react immediately. Probably we will have to modify the complete design of the car and keep watching how far we can go".
Organization Ferrari under the microscope
In addition to the car, the entire personnel structure of the racing team also needs to be looked at. It seems that no heads will roll, but change is needed: "If necessary, our organization must also address and change our working method. As a team we need to understand how we got into this situation".
"I have great faith in all the people who work on the car. We have embarked on a path with which we are once again trying to achieve victories. It will take time, but the company is aware of that and supports this vision. I am happy with the good news: 'Cutting heads don't make for a faster car'.
