'Bottas asks Mercedes to adjust the steering wheel after a bad start in Hungary'
- GPblog.com
Valtteri Bottas seemed to make a false start during the Hungarian Grand Prix, but in the end the Mercedes driver got away with it without punishment from the stewards. The Finn lost a lot of places anyway and the damage was already done. Bottas wants to prevent a repeat of last Sunday.
On his handlebar suddenly a light went on, which distracted Bottas and before the lights went out he came from his starting spot. "Something blinked on the display. I think a color or something changed on the main display of the dashboard, a pretty bright color", said Bottas afterwards according to Motorsport-Total.com.
LED lights
After viewing the onboard images, it turns out that it is not the large display that is the culprit, but rather three small red LED lights that go out above the main display. In the future this problem should be solved. "We don't want any distractions at such a sensitive moment," says Lewis Hamilton's team mate.
The aforementioned German medium reports that Bottas has asked his team to adjust his steering wheel. That update may be ready next week, when the Formula 1 travels to Silverstone to finish two Grands Prix there.
