After a large-scale test in which two positive cases of the coronavirus were found, there was great fear that the virus would spread within the paddock. According to the FIA, a new test did not reveal any new cases.
It is very important for the FIA and Liberty Media to keep the coronavirus out of the paddock. That is why the motorsport organization is keen that everyone sticks to the rules. Earlier Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc were warned, because they broke the rules.
In addition, two tests came back positive last week. The fear was great that the virus would spread in the paddock, but it seems that the organisation has acted quickly and well. The FIA and Formula 1 now confirm that there have been no new cases. The FIA reports this on its own website.
No positive tests returned
In the statement the organisation states that between Friday 17 July and Thursday 23 July 1461 tests were carried out on drivers, teams and staff. None of those tests came back positive. According to the FIA, fewer people have been tested this week compared to other weeks, but this is due to the week of rest between two Triple Headers. Starting next week there will be two races at Silverstone, with the Spanish Grand Prix immediately after that.
