Red Bull has snared the purified racing engineer Simon Rennie in front of the grid, the team announces. With this, the Austrians are doing their utmost to improve Alexander Albon's performance in the short term.

Rennie is an experienced engineer. Over the years, the Englishman gained a lot of respect for his work for Daniel Ricciardo and Mark Webber, the drivers he supervised between 2013 and 2018. He then traded work along the track for the factory, but Red Bull's hope is to give Albon's career the right riching. That also means that his current engineer, Mike Lugg, will be doing factory work at Milton Keynes.

Place five

Albon made a reasonable debut last season at Red Bull, finishing in eighth place. At Red Bull, he had come to Pierre Gasly's seat during the season, who in turn went back to AlphaTauri. With 22 points, Albon is fifth in the World Championship this season, miles behind Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. The difference between Max Verstappen and Albon is eleven points.
