Panic in F1 paddock? Perez skips press conference due to inconclusive coronatest
- GPblog.com
On Thursday afternoon the press conference for drivers always takes place and partly due to the corona virus this season all drivers get the chance to have their say. At least, if they have been declared negative during the tests and Sergio Perez is now uncertain about that.
Grand Prix not in immediate danger
Racing Point announced just before Perez and teammate Lance Stroll would enter the conference room that the Mexican will be absent. This is because the results of his last test cannot be determined with certainty according to the first reports.
At this moment he is waiting for the results of a second test. Should he indeed be positive, this does not mean that the Grand Prix weekend will be postponed, as happened in Australia. For himself and his team it could have big consequences and we might not see the pink cars on the tarmac this weekend.
Ooh. Sergio Perez absent from the FIA press conference today due to an inconclusive COVID test. Currently awaiting a retest #F1 #BritishGP
