Nico Hülkenberg is literally the flying 'stand in' of Sergio Perez. Racing Point only let him fly in last night to replace the Mexican at the British Grand Prix. In front of the camera at Ziggo Sport he tells what the last 24 hours have looked like for him.

"I got a call yesterday at four o'clock in the afternoon, then I boarded that jet and flew over here. Until two o'clock in the morning I fitted a seat and at eight o'clock in the morning I was still in the simulator. It's really crazy and not at all understandable."

It doesn't get easy for Hülkenberg

De Hulk indicated earlier that he was a bit done with Formula 1, is he motivated now? "Sure, if you get a chance like that. That doesn't happen every day and you just have to take it. Especially in such a fast car. It's been a tough day. I had a lot to learn. Of course, it's a very different car from last year's Renault."

He says he's a little cramped because he's a lot bigger than Perez. Something that results in a very strong leg. For this weekend he hopes the team will be able to do something about this, but those possibilities will be limited in the very short term.
