Vettel fears start on soft tyre: "It won't last long"
Sebastian Vettel is experiencing a disastrous season in Formula 1. Before the start of the year, it was already known that he will lose his place at Ferrari and during the races things are not going well either. With the British Grand Prix perhaps as a temporary low.
During the free practice sessions he already lost a lot of time due to technical problems, so he didn't get much time on track. Ferrari's car is very unstable due to a radical wing tuning and that proved to be the case in Q3, when Vettel's fastest time was discounted as he exceeded track limits.
Soft tyre does not work well at Silverstone
"I'm not happy about this. It's been a difficult weekend so far and I had trouble finding the rhythm. Of course, I'm disappointed that we're starting on the soft tyre and at the back of the top ten, so that's not ideal," he says in front of Ziggo Sport's camera.
Behind him there are a lot of drivers who will start on the medium tyre.
"Something unorthodox has to happen for us now. I don't think this soft tyre will last long, so we'll see what I can do with it."
