Alexander Albon is happy with his progress during the race. The Red Bull Racing driver had to move up from ninth place after a disappointing qualifying session, but on Sunday he was able to work himself up to fifth place. The RB16 is also getting better, Max Verstappen's teammate says.

"We were so strong in turns six and seven today," said Albon in conversation with Sky Sports. The RB16 was a lot more competitive than the previous Grand Prix at Silverstone. "Max will say the same. The car felt much better while driving than last week."

Albon doesn't quite agree with the criticism

The beginning of 2020 may not have gone quite as Albon would have liked, but the British Thai thinks that the criticism he received is unjustified.

"I think many of the comments have been unfair. We fought for the victory in the first race of the year," he said about Austria. "The first race at Silverstone was tough. We just have to have a better Saturday, the car feels much better on a Sunday than on a Saturday and we have to understand why."

Albon is currently sixth in the World Championship with 36 points. The gap to Verstappen has now increased to 41 points.
