LIVE FP2 of the Spanish Grand Prix
- GPblog.com
After the first free practice this morning it is now almost time for the second free practice on the circuit of Barcelona. With another hour and a half on the clock, the teams will have plenty of time to complete all kinds of programs in preparation for Saturday's qualifying session. The weather forecast for Sunday looks good, especially for Red Bull Racing so the key question is whether they can repeat their success of last weekend.
Mercedes winners
It's bound to be exciting this weekend, because although Mercedes is good for the day, that doesn't mean everything for the weekend. Moreover, it would also be good if another team wins this weekend. Verstappen was of course the surprising winner in 2016, but since then Lewis Hamilton has won every Grand Prix on this circuit. The heat may at least help, because then the Red Bull will perform well, but so will the AlphaTauri cars, which also drive a Honda block.
The circuit in Barcelona is 4,655 kilometres long and for all teams very well known terrain, as they drove a lot of laps there during the winter tests. Earlier today in the free practice there were already some programs finished and the drivers and teams will now continue in this second practice. As usual we will keep you informed of all developments on the track through this live blog.
