Albon not happy with the tyres in Spain: "They just weren't tyres"
Alexander Albon has again not found the connection with the top 3 in the Spanish Grand Prix. The British Thai is therefore disappointed with his race today.
Strikingly enough, Albon switched to the hard tyres early on. It seemed that Red Bull Racing was switching to a one-stop strategy, but that turned out not to be the case later on. What kind of problems did Albon have with the tyres during the Grand Prix?
"To be honest they just weren't tyres. Every stint I did I ran out of tyres after six or seven laps, we really have to look at that. It was a difficult afternoon today. I just didn't have a grip," the driver explained to Ziggo Sport.
A frustrating afternoon
Albon drove a lot faster during his third stint on the medium tyres, but Albon doesn't see any point in that. "I came to life on the medium tyres for six laps or so and then I was slow again. It was a frustrating afternoon," concludes the Brit.
