Horner: "Don't you see how Verstappen can get so much more out of that car?''

The pressure on Alexander Albon will only increase as he was put on a lap during the GP of Spain by Max Verstappen. For the time being Christian Horner will continue to defend him, but how long will that take?
A sixth place in qualifying seemed like a good result for Albon, but the gap of seven tenths at Verstappen was of course too big. On Sunday Albon wasn't helped by Red Bull Racing's strategic choices either, so Albon didn't advance in the race, but even lost places.
Albon loses more ground at Verstappen
''Albon just didn't have a good balance and on all three tyres it caused the tyres to wear much harder. After that he was in traffic most of the time and then it only gets worse. That's frustrating for him of course, but there wasn't much he could do about it'', says Horner according to Motorsport.com.
With forty points for Albon, the gap in the championship to Verstappen has risen to 55 points. Verstappen now has more than double the number of points and that's not normal after six races. ''We really wonder how Verstappen can get so much more out of the car. We believe in Alex, but at the moment the car is too difficult to handle and we have to drag it through,'' Red Bull's team boss concludes.
