Since the corona outbreak, the Formula 1 calendar has been an uncertain and much-discussed topic. Formula 1 had to improvise, and so far thirteen races have been confirmed. According to Michael Masi, the full calendar for this season will be final within two weeks.

Unpredictable calendar

As soon as the calendar is complete, a special season in Formula 1 comes to an end. Of course, there are still a lot of races to be driven, but perhaps the most unpredictable calendar ever in Formula 1 will be a fact.

According to race director Masi, they still need two weeks to complete the calendar. In all likelihood there will be a total of seventeen races to be driven, the born Australian knows to report to Sky Sports with reservations: "Without giving away anything about where we will finish, I think we can finish the calendar within two weeks. We can then announce the period after Imola, November and December. There may still be some surprises"

Back to Turkey

Rumour has it that the surprise would come mainly from Turkey. There are strong stories going around that the Istanbul Grand Prix will return, as the fourteenth race of the season. After Turkey the circus would then go to Bahrain for a double meeting and the season would regularly end in Abu Dhabi.

Masi is happy with races ahead and realizes that everyone involved has done a great job, and that the teams have also had to sacrifice a lot. "All the staff involved have had to sacrifice a lot because of the multiple triple headers, but it was in the interest of the Championship."

Masi continues: "It has definitely been a challenge for everyone but the FIA and the F1 Group have worked very hard to achieve as many events as possible for this year's championship". With seventeen races to come, we'll certainly be able to do that, returning to iconic circuits such as Imola and the Nurburgring.
