While Ferrari speared the straights last year, this year's SF1000 will not burn ahead on a power circuit like Spa-Francorchamps. Charles Leclerc understands the disappointment of the Tifosi.

A year ago, Leclerc took his very first Formula 1 victory, and in the next race, he was able to make the Tifosi very happy with his second victory at Monza. It will be an almost impossible task to repeat that performance this season.

Leclerc himself also finds it difficult to understand how much Ferrari has fallen back in the standings. "To be honest, it is very difficult to find an explanation. It's a huge step back from the rest. We need to find the root of the problem in order to work on it," said the Monegasque on Sky Sports F1 after qualifying.

No expectations for the race

"It's not a good day for us, but it's no different at the moment. We simply have to keep working hard. I think everyone on the team needs to keep their heads up in these difficult times," the driver continued.

"I understand the fans at home are very disappointed. We will try to have the best race possible, even if we can't expect anything from it," Leclerc concluded.
