Ferrari is not going to withdraw from the protest against the Racing Point car of 2020. With that news, the Italian branch of Motorsport.com will go public on Sunday evening. The Italian race stable will appeal to the International Court of Justice.

That still concerns the brake ducts of the RP20. These would not have been self-designed, but copied from Mercedes. Where Renault previously withdrew from the protest, Ferrari did not give up just like that.

Ferrari takes over Renault's role

After the Belgian Grand Prix, Racing Point was again reprimanded for driving the illegal brake ducts. This was also the case during the previous Grands Prix. The stewards reprimanded the British team each time, even though this has no consequences for them and does not directly lead to a penalty. Renault appealed against this the last four times, now it is the Ferrari that has taken over.

The Italian team would like more clarity from the FIA about what is and what is not allowed when copying parts. We do not know exactly when this will be clarified. The expectation is that this may take some time.
