This is how the international press reacted to the Belgian Grand Prix
The international press saw an unbeatable Mercedes during the Belgian Grand Prix. Max Verstappen did everything he could to turn the tide, but in his Red Bull that was an impossible task. According to media around the world, the 22-year-old Dutchman remained flawless, but it was Lewis Hamilton who dominated.

The German media writes that Red Bull had expected more from the GP on Sunday. "Red Bull had hoped to make it difficult for Mercedes in the race. The early safety car and the lack of rain made Verstappen bored. Moreover, Daniel Ricciardo got in the way of his ex-team. In the end, the weekend of Red Bull was a bit of a success. Max had never been so close to Mercedes in qualifying this year. But in the end, two Mercedes drivers were back on top of the podium. The gap in the world championship keeps growing and slowly but surely that frustrates them."

In Great Britain, they no longer expect Lewis Hamilton to give up his leading position in the World Championship. "Lewis Hamilton ended Mercedes' three-year wait for another victory at Spa-Francorchamps with a supreme drive to his 89th career win in the Belgian Grand Prix. Hamilton led from start to finish to defeat team-mate Valtteri Bottas and Red Bull's Max Verstappen in second and third respectively. The victory has stretched his world championship lead to a massive 47 points - almost the equivalent of two race wins."
La Gazzetta Dello Sport
The Italian sports newspaper states that there was no more in it than a third-place for Verstappen: "Too much Lewis Hamilton, too much Mercedes. The Belgian GP was also prey for the German team. They did not take the extra World Championship point, because Daniel Ricciardo set the fastest lap in his Renault at the last minute. Ricciardo finished in fourth place, behind Verstappen's usual place. Teammate Alexander Albon was the victim of the two Renaults, which were very fast."
L'Equipe
The French newspaper is especially interested in Hamilton's performance. "The Brit managed to keep the lead after the restart. At the end, it was still sweating for Lewis, because his right front tyre did not look very fresh anymore. In the end, it was not a difficult victory for the six-time world champion. He now has a lead of 47 points over closest attacker Max Verstappen."
ASH
In Spain they hope for a more attractive Formula 1. "Hamilton needs a rival. Verstappen had no chance, despite doing everything right. The Dutchman did a great job, but it must have been boring for him and the fans. The question is how long the fans can maintain these relationships."
