Vettel: "I would have liked to do more with Ferrari"

With three Italian Grands Prix on the calendar, it would normally be a fantastic time for Ferrari fans, although not that the tifosi cannot be present (in large numbers) at the races. On the other hand, it is of course the SF1000 that cannot be burned ahead. Sebastian Vettel, who is driving for Ferrari for the last time this year, hates to say goodbye without all the fans.
Want to achieve more with Ferrari
"I'm not nostalgic, I tend to look ahead", said Vettel to the Italian branch of Motorsport.com. "But I would certainly have liked to do more with Ferrari. It won't come to that, but for both parties it is now time to look ahead. Until the end of the season we will try to achieve the best in what we can."
Now that the collaboration is coming to an end and it often seems a bit difficult, Vettel still says that nothing is wrong. "As I said before, I don't have any grudges or regrets and I get the same impression from the team. I am a big fan of this brand and it has always been my dream to drive for Ferrari. I have had the privilege of making that dream come true. But now I'm looking to the future, whatever it may bring."
Last time at Monza
This weekend Sebastian Vettel will participate in a Ferrari Grand Prix at Monza for the last time. Always an important moment for the team and the Italians. This was clearly demonstrated last year by Charles Leclerc, who won with a frenzied crowd as a result. Vettel regrets that his 'farewell race' will be held without an audience, he says.
"It's a terrible pity not to have the fans there. It will be the first time I see Monza without the fans, but that might make it easier for me. This is because I think one of the most overwhelming things about Ferrari was to see how many fans this team has around the world."
"I don't want to be misunderstood, but it would be harder for me to feel the warmth of those who support us and realize that this is the last time", concludes Vettel. In other words, it will probably be easier for Vettel to say goodbye without the audience than with an audience. This is because otherwise the heat will become too overwhelming, which can make it emotionally very difficult.
