In Monza, rumours suddenly surfaced that Renault will be renamed: Alpine. As the weekend progressed, these rumours became more and more interesting. It looks like it won't be the only change within the Enstone team, because according to FormulaPassion.it they will replace team boss Cyril Abiteboul.

Rebranding

Renault is likely to continue as Alpine. The whole team will be reorganised under the leadership of the new CEO Luca De Meo. Alpine is Renault's sports brand and with this, the French brand wants to take the same kind of step as Alfa Romeo did a few years ago.

Exit Abiteboul

It seems as if it's not just a name change. It seems like Abiteboul won't keep his job as team boss and Marcin Budkowski is expected to take over that role.

Next year the drivers of Renault will already be known. Fernando Alonso returns to Formula 1 after two years of absence and Esteban Ocon retains his seat in 2021.
