Hamilton understands problem Verstappen: ''He's actually on his own''

Max Verstappen currently has to do everything alone at Red Bull Racing. After Pierre Gasly, the gap with Alexander Albon is too big for the second driver to help on Sunday. Lewis Hamilton is sympathetic to Verstappen.
Since the departure of Daniel Ricciardo at the end of 2018, Red Bull has had a problem. Both Gasly and Albon appear to be unable to get close to Verstappen, which means that the Dutchman has to rely on himself in the battle with Mercedes. In addition, Verstappen also has to steer the development of the car entirely on its own.
Hamilton acknowledges problems Verstappen
Hamilton has been able to raise this problem before and, according to Mopo.de, states that he knows this feeling all too well. ''Years ago when I drove for McLaren I had the same problem. Then at McLaren I also had a teammate (Heikki Kovalainen, 2008 and 2009) who wasn't strong enough to support me'', says the six-time world champion.
On the one hand, the team simply misses a lot of points for the constructors' title, but you can't play with the strategy during the race either. ''Max is on his own in this respect'', concludes the driver of Mercedes, who never had to do everything alone with Nico Rosberg and Valtteri Bottas on his current team.
