Problems for Vettel and Ferrari: Engine gives up after FP2
Friday went slightly better for Ferrari during their jubilee at Mugello than at Spa-Francorchamps and Monza, but it still wasn't a good day. Although Leclerc only managed a top ten time, there seem to be bigger problems for Sebastian Vettel.
Engine stops after a big bang
The practice session was actually already over when the engine in the back of the SF100 suddenly stopped when one of the turncoats at Mugello came out. From one moment to the next all the power was gone so Vettel had to walk back to the pits.
Exactly what is going on is of course not yet known, but when getting out of the car the four-time world champion warned the marshals to be careful with the electric charge of the car. With today's hybrid engines, this can lead to dangerous situations if the engine stops with a bang.
