Wolff: "Not sure if the team principal concept still works in F1".

Besides the silly season for drivers, there is also a lot of speculation about the future of a figure like Toto Wolff. Under his leadership Mercedes broke all records, but according to Wolff the workload is starting to take its toll. What's more, he thinks his current position is a bit old-fashioned.
"I'm not sure that the concept of team boss still works in Formula 1," said Wolff to Channel 4 during the race weekend at Mugello. "I am responsible for 2000 people, 1000 at the engine department and 1000 at the factory. Should one person bear the responsibility and liability?"
Wolff thinks about his health
Wolff therefore doubts that. "I have done it with love, but perhaps in the future we should see if we can split up that role." That would not only be better for the team, it would also be less burdensome for the person in charge. Wolff himself knows all about that.
"I've had migraines, which is completely new to me. I think we all have an expiry date and I don't want to relapse from 'great' to 'good'. Then somebody else better take over."
